I love the suggestion to pray for others in the church standing nearby. It is so easy to focus on the internal or the distant, but it is essential for our church and community to also pray for the local, even (and possibly most importantly) when we don't know those inhabiting the space at the same time. It roots us to where we are and reminds us that we are all in communion together. Thank you for that reminder and suggestion.
Yes, I know that can be so true. Christ says, if you are on the way to make your offering, and remember that you have something against your brother, leave your offering and go make peace. Only then should we renew our journey of offering in the Temple. This is exactly what I am trying to say here. Unless we make peace with others, it's not really doable to have a good face to face time with God.
Please do. I think we bring children to Church, and just assume that they will... do what, exactly? People flock to gurus who teach meditation, because they at least provide some kind of training for the inner struggles. If the young person just stands there throughout their teenage years, and it never becomes personal, then why would they keep attending liturgy once they are free?
Thank you for saying that. So many great saints were intensely practical people. We have to talk over what to actually do in Church, on the way to Church, home from Church. We have to learn so that we can cooperate with all that abundant grace...

Agree, especially since most of the time I see the people around me as an annoyance! 🫣

Beautiful Dr Tim---thank you for the Trivium and its application to our Worship experience. We can use it now more than ever!
I would like to 'borrow it' for my High School Sunday School class--(which we call, 'Youth Forum' at Holy Cross in Pittsburgh.)
Love in Christ,

Thank you Dr Timothy. You have no idea of how helpful this has been for me. A perfect reminder for me at the perfect time.
